Before & After Pre-school Care

Wraparound Care Offering

Hedgehog Club is the name of Egerton Pre-schools wraparound care, which includes before and after pre-school care and holiday club.  Hedgehog Club is open between 7.45 am and 9 am and 3 pm to 5 pm Monday to Friday (if demand is sufficient).

Children in their final year of pre-school and who are toilet trained, are able to attend our before and after school Hedgehog Club, the club will only run if demand is sufficient.

Hedgehog Club is play-based and children will be free to choose a selection of resources as they wish. Examples of activities include:  


There will also be visits around Knutsford to the local shops, cafés and library as well as the park. The ratio for outings is 2 adults to 4 children and staff hold children’s hands while walking to and from venues. A risk assessment will be completed prior to taking the children on outings, which will be available in the foyer for parents to read.  

What is Provided 

Breakfast Club:       A selection of cereals, toast, fresh fruit and water or milk. 
After School Club:  A light tea will be provided which includes fresh fruit and vegetables as well as crackers or toast or bagels, cheeses and malt loaf.
The food provided at after school club is not a substitute for a main meal.  

Ad hoc Bookings

Hedgehog Club will try to accommodate short notice bookings for breakfast and afterschool club wherever possible. Please call 01565 652340 to find out if there is space available.

Fees From September 2023

Before School:  7.45am – 9am £8.00 (breakfast included)  
Before School:  8.30am – 9am £4.00  
After School:     3pm – 3.30pm – £4.00  
After School:     3pm- 5pm – £10.00 (light tea included) 

Using your Funded Hours 

The 15-hour funding hours are between 9am – 3pm only, 38 weeks a year, term time only.  

However, for those accessing more than 15 hours of funding, there is an option to stretch over 47 weeks if you wish to take advantage of our Hedgehog Holiday Club.
