Autumn Term 21

Blog for Autumn Term 2021:

Welcome back!

It is so lovely to welcome you all back to pre-school, it is wonderful to see returning parents and those leaving their children with us for the first time.

So far our returning children are all settling back in to the pre-school routine and seem happy to be back!  Our new children are beginning to settle well and they are enjoying a wide range of activities and getting to know new friends.

Our new committee was elected at our AGM on 30th September, anyone who is still wanting to get involved in fundraising please contact Lou and she will arrange for you to be added to the fundraising whatsapp group.

We would like to thank all parents for working alongside us in these continuing different and ever changing times. Please continue to use the Famly app as this is where you will find any changes within pre-school and also keep up to date with assessments and observations of your child over the term.

This term we have started All About Me, looking at similarities and differences, people who are important to us. We will follow the children’s interests in these areas and see where it takes us! We have been using mirrors to look at the colour of our hair and eyes, using different resources to make faces. We have also started our small groups for Kids Talk and Dough Gym, rolling the ball to one another, saying names as we roll so we get to know the names of our new friends.

Children making their own hedgehogs from clay and sticks

We have had an exciting start to the new term with a family of hedgehogs being found by the BT engineer in the big garden. We have seen Mummy hedgehog and three babies, we are trying to entice them into the hedgehog house with cat food but so far they are more than happy with their nest in the leaves!

Our Hedgehog Club (after school) currently is available on a Monday and Tuesday until 5pm, please contact Louise if you are interested.

We hope you all have an enjoyable half term at pre-school and if you have any questions we are only an email or a phone call away.
