Bird Watching this Winter Half Term

Happy New Year, we hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year!

Welcome back after the Christmas break which seems so long ago now! We have some new families and some families coming back with siblings and we look forward to getting to know them all this term.

We are going to be looking at Winter this half-term (hopefully starting next week if Winter starts!) and the changes this brings. We will be looking at birds and how to help them find food.

We would appreciate if you could bring in food so the children can make bird cakes (birdseed, cake etc.) but no nuts or bread, please. We will also be making our own bird hide so we can watch the birds in our garden and use a list to mark which ones we have seen. We will use ICT and books to help identify them. Our Winter frieze will also start next week and we hope that children will draw and paint their own bird pictures for the tree.

We are continuing to go to the school hall for dancing and ring and action games which the children are really enjoying.

We are continuing with Hedgehog Club our wraparound care offering from 7:45am until 6pm. Please contact Louise via email or phone 01565 652340 if you are interested in booking a space. We have had quite a few children booked in on an adhoc basis which is proving successful.

The children who have been staying for Hedgehog Club have enjoyed a wide range of activities and board games. We have visited the library where the children have been choosing books to bring back to pre-school and we sat and read some books as well. We have been across to Egerton Primary School and visited the afterschool club. They were happy to show us their guinea pigs, which we enjoyed looking after.
